Michael Coluzzi

M ichael J. Coluzzi is a seasoned attorney with more than 20 years of experience advising private developers, municipalities, and closely held businesses on real estate transactions, land use approvals, corporate structuring, and redevelopment. His background combines technical legal skill with practical business insight, built through a successful career as an attorney, real estate developer, business owner, and entrepreneur.

Michael’s legal practice focuses on commercial and residential real estate transactions, planning and zoning board representation, redevelopment counsel, and general corporate matters.

On the private side, he regularly represents real estate investors, family offices, business owners, and operators in transactions involving commercial and residential properties, business formation, succession planning, and regulatory compliance. He has led large-scale §1031 exchanges, negotiated commercial leases, and directed the restructuring of multi-entity family enterprises with significant real estate holdings.

On the municipal side, Michael has served as counsel to multiple South Jersey municipalities, advising planning boards, zoning boards, and governing bodies on land use law, redevelopment planning, COAH compliance, and regulatory risk. His work includes defending municipalities in builder’s remedy litigation, structuring PILOT agreements, managing cannabis dispensary application reviews, and guiding redevelopment approvals through both legal complexity and public scrutiny. He brings a strategic, grounded approach to public-sector representation, informed by a deep command of the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law and related statutory frameworks.

Michael is admitted to practice in New Jersey. He received his J.D. from Widener University School of Law and holds a B.S. in Accounting from La Salle University.
